Step 3:
Copy the binaries in
the Oracle Base directory you have created earlier.
Generally the binaries
are in ZIP format, so you need to unzip it before using it. Depending upon the
zipping format you can either user Unix’s utilities like GZIP (.gz extensions),
cpio –ivdm < file.cpio (for cpio extensions) or unzip (for .zip extensions).
Invoke the runInstaller
file to start the OUI, using the following command.
bash$ cd
database/
bash$ ./runInstaller
After invoking the runInstaller OUI appears
- Provide the details about
a) Select
Oracle Home
b) Installation
Type
c) DBA
Group
d) Starter
DatabaseSpecifications
2. Click Next
3. Provide the Inventory Location
4. Select OS group name.
Click Next
5. System would proceed
for the product specific prerequisite checks
